I spent over a decade in the film industry as a key post-production story and marketing strategy consultant to top Hollywood studios, media, and product creators. My job was to help the top storytellers in the industry understand and connect with their audiences, and even improve on movie magic by making sure their vision was getting across in their content.
How did I do that? Using a magic combination of marketing research and intuitive insight.
I was the girl taking notes on her dimmed iPhone screen tucked in her purse through 11 screenings of Noah to understand why each bit of voice over and new scene improved the rating of the movie.
I supported 20th Century Fox in designing the ideal messaging and TV marketing campaign strategy of The Martian, leading a movie about a scientist stranded on Mars to a $54 million dollar opening. I developed a research strategy specifically for documentaries that helped lead the movie Undefeated to win an Oscar in 2011.
